Our Story
The Arizona Banjo Blasters were founded in 2007 by a group of old-time banjo players who wanted to promote their style of music on tenor and plectrum banjos. Not to be confused with blue-grass style banjo music, the Blasters play music mostly from the first 30 years of the 1900’s.
Our mission is to preserve the legacy of the 4-string banjo. We rehearse and learn new music once a week at St. Luke’s Chapel on 1st Ave. and Adams each Wednesday at 10:00 am. Bring your banjo and join us!
As an 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, the Blasters raise money through performances at assisted living residences, music festivals and private parties throughout SE Arizona. Excess funds are donated to various charities.
